Pskov and Novgorod

Sightseeing tour by bus. The route includes Nevsky Prospect, Kazan Cathedral, Palace Square, Admiralty, Vasilyevsky Island, Hermitage, St. Isaak's Cathedral, Bronze Horseman and other sites (without entering the buildings).

Optional programme: Channels and Neva cruise by a specific low boat adapted for passing through the channels and under low bridges. Due to these channels and bridges the city's got its name -"Northern Venice". A glimpse of the city's sights and its architecture from the legendary Neva River and some of the many channels gives a unique impression and memory.

Optional program: a tour to Hermitage, one of the largest museums in the world with over 3 million exhibits and rich collection including masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and others. The museum, which was formerly Emperor's Palace, is also known for its archaeological collection, collection of sculptures, a collection of medieval European art and also for its baroque appearance and architecture.

Pskov is one of the oldest cities in Russia. Its exact age is not known, but the first mention of it dates back to year 903. Pskov, located on the western border of the country, was endangered for centuries. This forced to constantly strengthen and develop the fortress. Pskov became the only Russian city that got five fortress rings (three of them are still preserved), which made it almost impregnable.
The old city of Pskov is relatively small, but there are about 50 churches there. The most ancient of them date back to the XII century. The number of churches and monasteries in Pskov is so big that one could say there is no street in the city without a church or at least a chapel.

Veliky Novgorod, also known as Novgorod the Great or just Novgorod (meaning "newtown"), is one of the oldest and most important historic cities in Russia, with more than 1000 years of history. At its peak during the 14th century, the city was the capital of the Novgorod Republic and was one of Europe's largest cities. UNESCO recognized Novgorod as a World Heritage Site in 1992.

The Gatchina Palace and park is one of Russia's outstanding ensembles. With its own unique identity, it is just another gem in the ring of imperial suburban palaces around St Petersburg. The Gatchina palace collection was begun by Count Gregory Orlov, the palace's first owner and a collector of hunting weapons, paintings and objects of decorative arts from Western Europe and the East. After his death, the Grand Duke Paul Petrovich came to own the Palace, which later served as an imperial residence from 1796 through 1917. In 2016, the Palace marked its 250th anniversary.
