  • Sightseeing tour by bus. Petrozavodsk, the capital of Karelia, is a small and cozy town on the shore of lake Onega, which is the second largest lake in Europe. During the tour one can walk around the old town and the famous Onega promenade to see wooden houses of the pre-Soviet era.
  • Tour to Kizhi island on a "meteor" (hydrofoil). Transfer takes 1.5 hours. Kizhi is an open-air museum of wooden architecture on one of the islands of Lake Onega. The wooden buildings presented at the museum were built in the 17th century using a unique technology - not a single nail was used in their construction. The Intercession Church, the unique 22-headed Transfiguration Cathedral and the ancient Church of the Resurrection of Lazarus of Murom are especially worth seeing. One can also see an old mill, barns and old houses where volunteers and museum workers show traditional peasant crafts.

  • Transfer to the island of Valaam on Lake Ladoga takes less than an hour. A sightseeing tour to the central estate of the monastery includes a visit to the Transfiguration Cathedral, where the relics of the Monks Sergius and German rest. On the shore of Nikon Bay there is the Resurrection Sket with a copy the cave of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. After a walk along the forest road towards the Gethsemane monastery with the wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the excursion ends on the Eleonskaya Mount, which offers one of the most poetic views of Lake Ladoga.
  • A walking tour of the marble canyon of Ruskeala, which is a huge bowl cut out by men in an array of marble strata, half filled with pure emerald water. It is framed by gentle and steep cliffs of light gray marble, towering up to a height of 25 m above the surface of the lake.
  • A visit to the Ruskeala Falls - the place where the famous film "The Dawns Here Are Quiet" was filmed.
