Read more Through the centuries of its history Königsberg has been an impregnable fortress until april, 1945. The town gate, towers, bastions and forts preserved in Kaliningrad are masterpieces of European military engineering. The program of this day includes seeing the inner fortifications of the city: the defensive wall, the moat, Don Tower, bastion Oberteich, barracs Kronprince, bastion Grolman and the city gate, as well as the monuments to the heroes of World War 1 and World War 2, and the Victory Park.
A visit to the museum "Königsberg-45. Final assault" with its 3-dimensional panorama provides a unique opportunity to experience the battle between Soviet and German armies in april 1945. A visitor finds himself in the middle of the battle and hears guns and cannons shooting.
After the lunch the program continues to the outer fortifications, which includes fort "King Friedrich Wilhelm 3", former part of Königsberg's defense line including 12 powerful forts, which is now a memorial.
