- Sergiyev Posad (former Zagorsk, 70 km from Moscow) is one of the oldest and largest Russian monastery complexes, the center of Russian Orthodoxy and spirituality, formerly the residence of the Russian patriarch. The tour includes visiting Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the magnificent example of ancient art and architecture. Lavra, developing from a lonely wooden church in the middle of a forest in the XIV century, had different roles significant for Russian history, and now it's both a large museum complex and a functioning temple.
- Transfer to Pereslavl-Zalessky. The town was founded by Yuri Dolgoruki on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo in 1152 and was by the way the hometown of Alexander Nevsky.
City sightseeing: the main square of the city, earthen defensive fortifications from the 12th century, the Transfiguration Cathedral (founded in 1157, one of the oldest buildings on the territory of north-eastern Russia), the Nikola's Convent (founded in 1350). One of the most important sights in the city is the museum of Peter the Great's "botik" - the small warship which is now called "the grandfather of the Russian navy".
